MediRec begins expansion in AP 5.2

Managed by Viva Rio — the same social organization as AP 3.1, the first expanded area —, AP 5.2 received group training, concentrated in a single hub and organized by system usage profile.

In November 2025, MediRec began its expansion in Programmatic Area 5.2, managed by the social organization Viva Rio — the same as AP 3.1, the first area of ​​the network to receive the expansion. The expansion would reach 169 teams in the area and took place in the same period as the expansion of AP 2.2, also led by Viva Rio.

The training followed the already consolidated group format, concentrated in a single hub. Organized by CAP according to the system's usage profile, the groups brought together, on the one hand, managers, nursing RTs and community health agents; on the other, regulators, technical leads (RT) and doctors — with the nursing RT also present, in part, alongside the other RTs.

Human decision and protected data

MediRec’s artificial intelligence suggests priorities and checks criteria and documents, but qualification remains the professional’s responsibility — the clinical decision remains human. Because it deals with health data, MediRec operates as a data processor under network governance: it has no patient-facing interface, processes data only within the scope of the project and ensures its return or deletion within 30 days after the contract ends.

Four principles run through the platform: complementarity, human decisions over AI, protected data and the network’s autonomy over its own technology.
