In AP 2.1, the expansion of MediRec adopts group training

The second area to receive the expansion, AP 2.1 — managed by the social organization Gnosis — inaugurated a new group training format, defined in conversation with those responsible for the area.

In August 2025, MediRec began its expansion in Programmatic Area 2.1, managed by the social organization Gnosis. The expansion would reach the 71 teams in the area — the second to be integrated, right after AP 3.1.

The experience of AP 3.1, covered unit by unit, showed the limits of this method as a first step in expansion: careful, but slow given the scale of the network. For AP 2.1, in conversation with the area's technical leads (RT) and the Primary Care Superintendence (SAP), it was decided to test a different approach — group training, centered on the CAP itself or in a computer laboratory based in a unit, instead of a service-to-service visit.

The groups were organized by professional category, bringing together participants from various units: doctors and nurses in one group; managers and community health agents in another. The grouping of units was the responsibility of CAP itself, according to its knowledge of the territory. The proposal was to make better use of the time of each meeting and allow professionals from the same role to learn together about the same flows.

Human decision and protected data

MediRec’s artificial intelligence suggests priorities and checks criteria and documents, but qualification remains the professional’s responsibility — the clinical decision remains human. Because it deals with health data, MediRec operates as a data processor under network governance: it has no patient-facing interface, processes data only within the scope of the project and ensures its return or deletion within 30 days after the contract ends.
